Isto Não é Um Cubo

A project that brings together artists and audiences from three territories (Évora, Lisbon, and São Miguel) to think and act on ways of doing and looking at current artistic creation.

From December 2024 to March 2026, the artist collectives OSSO, Teatro do Frio, and Space Transcribers present creations that put contemporary artistic practices, collections, and visual arts audiences into dialogue.

In the three locations where the project takes place, a resident group of audience members has been created that follows the entire life of the project.

Isto Não é Um Cubo (This Is Not a Cube) aims to develop an intervention in dialogue and in continuity, with other venues, artists, and audiences living in different territories, aiming to produce a collaborative catalogue, structured by the experience of enjoyment and circulation of participants.

Between the black box of the theatre space and the white cube of the art gallery, a “greyzone” now opens (a concept present in the text Black Box, White Cube, Gray Zone from 2018, by Claire Bishop), open to participation and joint reflection.
