Space Transcribers - Instructions for drawing dialogues

Space Transcribers, an architecture collective from Braga, celebrates their 10 year anniversary with Instructions for Drawing Dialogues, a performance lecture that invites the public to revisit and interact with a multimedia collection of ideas, drawings, actions, and research methodologies that have defined its trajectory over the last few years. Structured in three acts, the talk proposes an interactive and chronological journey through three of Space Transcribers' emblematic projects. The first, Transcrever: Ações Participativas nos Bairros Sociais de Braga (2015) (Transcribe: Participatory Actions in Braga's Social Neighbourhoods )(2015), introduces new forms of dialogue with peripheral urban communities, exploring ways of living and interacting. The second project, Alocar/Deslocar (Allocate/Deallocate)(2019), created for the Bienal de Arte Contemporânea da Maia, focuses on the dynamics of mobility and interaction with spaces of exchange and consumption, reflecting on the transformations that occur in these places and their influence on lives of the inhabitants. And finally, Reconciliar os Comuns nas Aguas do Tâmega (Reconciling the Commons in the Waters of Tâmega) (2023), developed for the Portuguese representation at the Venice Architecture Biennale, explores the relationship between architecture and scarce natural resources.
