ALBERTO CARNEIRO
ALBERTO CARNEIRO
Curated by: Bruno Marchand
In May 2023, the Culturgest bookshop moved from its original spot near the galleries to the entrance hall next to the cafeteria. The space it occupied before will now be dedicated to free exhibitions inspired by the broad idea of books, and related notions such as editing, writing, documentation, inscription, paper, et cetera. As “The cane field: memory-metamorphosis of an absent body” (Alberto Carneiro, 1937–2017) is shown as part of the commemorative programme of our thirtieth anniversary, the new space opens to the public with an assemblage of posters, catalogues, brochures, prints, and books designed by Carneiro. This will be the largest exhibition to date dedicated to another facet of an artist who paid particular attention to the many declinations [RPDSME8] his work came to know over the decades.
