HOW TO AVOID GREENWASHING - CLIMATE CHANGE AND COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES
09:00 - 10:30
Room 2
APPLICATIONS CLOSED
Carbon dioxide emission offset programmes have become almost ubiquitous in companies that want to appear as “environmentally friendly”. In this workshop we look at communication practices and the challenges of greenwashing and net zero goals, as well as the contribution of companies to global greenhouse gas reduction targets. With practical examples, we discuss communication support tools and work on case studies.
CLIMATE WALL
09:00 - 13:00
Room 1
Climate change is one of the biggest problems in the world today. Several world leaders, such as the leaders of the G7, recognise the importance and urgency of action. With the worsening consequences for the planet and human beings, the moral obligation of implementing effective strategies against climate change seems clear. But is the issue really understood before the measures are applied? In game mode, this workshop aims to increase grassroots literacy on climate change and collective awareness of its impacts. Based on the IPCC report, the workshop explores, for both insiders and experts, how the climate works and the consequences of ongoing disruptions.
BUSINESS AS AN ECOSYSTEM - HOW NATURE CREATES INOVATIONS?
11:00 - 13:00
Room 2
APPLICATIONS CLOSED
We were invented by Nature. The most basic premise of the human condition is that we are part of Nature on which we totally depend. Long before the emergence of Humanity, Nature invented competition, cooperation, trade‐offs, symbiosis and, of course, ecosystems. Real life shows us many examples of cooperative strategies, covering a range of attributes, but ultimately, innovation is just a version of Darwin’s famous sentence: “Adapt or die”. Companies can, in fact, be seen as biological species that struggle to adapt to an ever-changing ecosystem. However, innovative businesses cannot evolve in a vacuum. They must attract all kinds of resources to create high value ecosystems/networks where ‘species’ can work cooperatively and competitively, supporting new products, meeting customer needs and fostering the seeds of innovation. In this workshop, we look at ecosystem scenarios and explore nature‐inspired strategies and tactical moves that can help companies innovate and thrive.
