Editoria Errância

Talk about artists' editions, collaborative processes and distribution strategies with Fillipa Valladares (curator, publisher and bookseller) and Sofia Gonçalves (designer, researcher and co-founder of Dois Dias publishing house) and the artist Isabel Carvalho, in the context of the exhibition Editoria Errância. Moderated by curator Catarina Rosendo.

Editoria Errância presents a selection of posters, leaflets, books, scarves, and magazines, printed in a wide variety of media, by the artist Isabel Carvalho (Porto, 1977). Exhibited together for the first time, these works highlight the artist’s continued activity in the universe of editions and publications, as substantial and constant as her visual practice and with it sharing a universe of ecofeminist and queer concerns, as well as an interest in linguistic processes of significance.

Whether as an artist, author, designer, publisher or distributor, both in individual and relational projects, Isabel Carvalho has been blurring the boundaries between writing and image, and questioning the notion of authorship, from the activities she programmed for Navio Vazio – where she experimented with a curatorship designed to explore the plasticity of publishing processes in a three-dimensional space – to the creation of Clara Batalha, the activist educator who signs several of her texts as a heteronym.
