Founded in 2015 by American artist Joe Scanlan, the Broodthaers Society of America (BSA) has been dedicated to scrutinising the resonances and influences that Marcel Broodthaers' work maintains with the political and cultural context of the United States. In addition to hosting exhibitions and events related to the Belgian artist's life and work, the BSA maintains a growing archive of publications and artist books that Broodthaers produced throughout his life, many of which are now true rarities. For this exhibition, and with the cooperation of artist and founding director Joe Scanlan, BSA will transfer to Gallery 3 a complete archive from its collection, providing a unique opportunity to delve into the production of one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
