Temporada Darcos has been a highly-respected venture undertaken by the composer and conductor Nuno Côrte-Real, presenting valuable works of chamber and symphony music in an insistent and continuing manner at some of Portugal’s most prestigious concert halls. To commemorate the tenth anniversary of this innovative promotional project, Côrte-Real wrote Agora Muda Tudo (Now Everything Changes), taking the original words of José Luís Peixoto and the vocal performance of the singer Maria João, offering these to us in a cycle of original songs for voice and ensemble that glides seamlessly through jazz, classical music and the collective imagination of our traditions. Agora Muda Tudo, which was awarded the SPA Authors’ Prize in 2018 for the best work of erudite music, returns to the stage once again for another celebration: the release of the album by the American record company Odradek, which in this way perpetuates a project that has been prepared to enjoy a long trajectory of success within the new Portuguese music.
