Pedro Abrunhosa, one of the greatest national composers and musicians, presents yet another unique concert with the Caviar Committee. Traveller, quintessential stage musician, all round best selling platinum artist, it is on the road that he really feels in his element. 

He studied Analysis, Composition and History of Music at the Escola de Música, Porto, at the age of 16. He later studied Composition at the [music] Conservatory and was invited by composer Enrique X. Macias to join the Madrid Contemporary Music Group with whom he performed in Spain and Portugal.

He got into music via classical studies. When he came to jazz he played like a scholar. He has since participated in international seminars, formed bands, played in orchestras and went on tours. He collaborated with great artists like Paul Motion, Bill Frisell, Joe Lovano, David Liebman and Billy Hart. He taught bass at the Hot Clube de Portugal jazz school in Lisbon, directed and produced “Até Jazz” at Rádio Clube, Porto. He founded the Porto Jazz School and the “Cool Jazz Orchestra”

The next step on his journey introduced Bandemónio and “Viagens”, a rock album full of jazz and life released in 1994. Pedro Abrunhosa has always travelled. When he journeyed into rock music, he brought a load of history and style. “Viagens” reached triple Platinum, with more than 140 thousand copies sold. That relationship with the public would never be broken. In 1995 he released the maxi-single "F" and in 1996 the album "Tempo", which sold 80 thousand copies in one week, going on to be certified a quadruple Platinum, with sales exceeding 180 thousand. In 1999, “Silêncio” was released, and in 2002 “Momento”, reaching Platinum and double Platinum, respectively. The triple album “Palco”, released in 2003, which included live recordings of concerts, sold more than 70 thousand copies, and “Intimidade”, a DVD edited in 2005 and recorded live at the opening of Casa da Música, Porto, reached another outstanding success in spite of the economic crisis, and “Luz” followed in 2007.

In 2010 he gets together with Comité Caviar and music producer João Bessa and releases the albums “Longe”, “Contramão” in 2013 and “Espiritual” in 2019. All albums reflect Pedro Abrunhosa’s powerful writing and include songs that share in all the other hymns, legends and adages his audience has become accustomed to.

This concert will no doubt be unique and unforgettable.
