Place, proximity, and territory: a series of lectures
Place, proximity, and territory: a series of lectures
Curated by: José Reis e Liliana Coutinho
In this series of lectures, Portuguese territory is examined beyond the usual pairing of opposites such as coastline and interior, city and country, or densely populated areas and areas at risk of desertification. What makes a place? What sorts of relations favour proximity? And how does the weaving of place and proximity create a territory we can live in, and make our own? In November and December, Culturgest presents three conferences that are part of this cycle, with Jeff Malpas (November 14th), Désiréé Pedro, Carlos Antunes, Maria Manuel Oliveira (November 22nd), José António Bandeirinha, José Reis and Magda Henriques (December 5th).
