SILVIA BÄCHLI
SILVIA BÄCHLI
Curated by: Bruno Marchand
The work of Silvia Bächli (Baden, Switzerland, 1956) resembles a visual inventory of the subtle experiences of everyday life. Working almost exclusively in the area of drawing, since the mid-1980s, the artist has been exploring a very restricted set of graphic resources – essentially line and colour – through which she seeks to fix some of the impressions and sensations that we experience every day. As the title of this exhibition indicates, the peculiar experience of our body affected by a side wind can be the trigger for a series of works that are intended to make the indescribable essence of that phenomenon visible. Bächli’s drawings are essays: images that make (necessarily incomplete and partial) approaches to the intangible world.
