MOTION is a research and creation project that combines procedures and methodologies from theatre and contemporary dance within the context of visual arts. The result is a performance proposal developed through the experience of the visitors to Culturgest art galleries. 

Inspired by the processes of Manifestações (Protests), a multidisciplinary project originally created from consultations with different public spaces in the city of Porto (MEXE, 2021), MOTION exposes Teatro do Frio for a week to contact with the different entities that inhabit the gallery – works, objects, visitors – in a physical and sensitive way of listening. As a result of this experience, the same cast takes the stage on the small auditorium to share and expand, orally and performatively, in front of and in the public’s presence, the sparkles and fissures of these encounters. 

MOTION is not a theatre show, nor a dance show, but rather a hybrid writing act that, in a collective and polyphonic way, orally and in real time sculpts the text and movements of what is, for lack of a better word, a performance.
